  1. In an oven-proof pot, heat the rapeseed oil and brown the sausages for about 5-7 minutes, then set aside.
  2. Add the bacon and cook for a couple of minutes, adding the onion and garlic and cook for 3 - 4 minutes until soft, but not browned. Add the white wine and tomatoes and optional chilli. Add the sausages back in. Season well, also adding the thyme. Bring up to a simmer, cover and cook on the hob for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the bunch of thyme. Add the honey and drained chick peas. Check the seasoning. Mix the cheese with the breadcrumb mix, along with the chopped parsley. Put the pot in the oven, uncovered for around 15 - 20 minutes until browned at 200C/180C fan/400F/Gas 6.
Recipe Notes

Leftovers will freeze fine.
